Andros has an impressive network of over 300km of footpaths. In one day it is possible to pass through lush green landscapes with gushing waterfalls, cross a rugged mountain and descend through ancient walled terraces on a hillside to a sandy beach on the shores of the Aegean.

Outstanding Monasteries

The island is rich in religious history, with significant monasteries dating from the Byzantine period to the last years of the Ottoman Empire. Some of them are Zoodochos Pigi Monastery, Panachrantou, Agia Marina, Agios Nikolaos, Saint Irene Monastery and many more.

Countless Beaches

Caves and capes with steep rock that protruding from the sea with majesty. “Achla” beach is considered as one of the most beautiful beach of Greece as the water is crystal while behind the beach there is a hidden paradise. Vori, Zorkos, Vitali, Pyrgos, Ateni, Fellos, Vlychada or Apothikes beach are some other options that a visitor must-see.

Starting from the Archeological Museum, , there is a collection of fascinating findings from the ancient town of Paleopolis. The Museum of Modern Art hosts a variety of works from Greek artists, while the Goulandris Museum of Contemporary Art is the most popular museum of the island.

Traditional Chora

 Neoclassical and Cycladic buildings with influences by Venetian, Byzantine and Ottoman architecture give the feeling of penetrating in another world and another time. The Venetian-style stone bridge connects Andros Town to a little islet supporting the remains of an old castle, being the highlight of the island.
